That’s why Nevin offers a variety of high-technology lighting systems designed especially for dental technicians. You need the right amount of light and the right kind of light at an affordable price.

The right amount of light. The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America recommends a minimum of 100 foot candles for difficult bench work and 300 to 1000 foot candles for exacting bench work. Your personal comfort level will vary with your age and the time of day. Excessive illumination will wash out a Bunsen burner flame, creating a hazard. A low illumination level results in eye strain and fatigue.

The right kind of light. Nevin lights feature Accu-TechTM color-corrected “Full Spectrum” compact fluorescent technology. These lamps feature color balanced 5550º K (kelvin) and 91 CRI (color rendering index), which simulate the optical brilliance of natural outdoor light at noon on a clear day. The right kind of light improves your shade matching ability and your visual acuity, minimizing eyestrain and headaches.
