Program that includes the disposal of all
regulated dental waste. Solmetex offers a
variety of disposal kits for all sizes and types
of dental practices. These annualized disposal
program provide the opportunity for your
practice to meet all your waste disposal needs
from one source.

Also, we offer
both a 5 gallon and 18 gallon biohazard bucket
as a separate item. These biohazard
buckets are not part of the original kit, but

infectious waste materials.

OSHA Compliance
SolmeteX begins
its hazardous and infectious waste service with
OSHA training and procedures. Our state-specific
dental OSHA training kit includes a three ring
office binder with all pertinent and required
OSHA information for your office as well as
individual employee training manuals with
documented employee testing. This program is
used to place the office and employee in
compliance annually and comes with a toll free
hotline for questions and help regarding OSHA
inspections and regulations.

Photo-Chemical Recovery
Photochemical
wastes from film processors have two chemical
components: fixer and developer. Fixer is used
to emulsify silver from the x-ray film as part
of the process of film development. A direct
result of this process is the accumulation of
silver in spent fixer that exceeds allowable
discharge limits into the sanitary sewer.
Photographic developer has trace amounts of
silver from the process, but is within the
allowable discharge limits in most areas.
SolmeteX uses
EPA-Approved photochemical filtration unit to
ensure customer compliance in all US locations.
We have four models specifically designed to
meet individual dental practice requirements.
Each filtration unit comes with prepaid return
shipping and recycling certification.
With SolmeteX
photochemical kits, we eliminate the need to
store hazardous waste chemical and reduce OSHA
complications for handling hazardous waste.
SolmeteX also provides easy application and
installation. |

Amalgam Recovery
Amalgam waste is
found in a variety of locations within the
dental practice. The most common is the
chairside trap, which is typically changed
weekly. Other waste amalgam items include:
leftover or spend amalgam, removed teeth with
amalgam fillings, empty amalgam capsules, and
vacuum trap containers located by the vacuum
pump. Even if a dental practice claims to be
amalgam free, they can still general waste
amalgam from removed teeth and from chairside
and vacuum pump traps. SolmeteX provides a
UN/DOT approved storage and shipping container
as well as pre-paid shipping label.

Lead Foil
Recycling
The SolmeteX Lead
Foil Kit is a packaged program for the recycling
of lead from spent "bitewing" x-ray film. Spent
lead foil is collected and stored in our UN/DOT
approved waste storage and shipping container.
This one gallon container is properly labeled
and comes with a prepaid return shipping
service, including certificate of recycling for
the generator. |

Bio-Hazard Disposal
(Additional Cost)
SolmeteX provides
Bio-Hazard Waste Services for regulated
infectious and sharps waste disposal. The
SolmeteX "Mailback" biohazard waste service
program provides a five gallon or large size
infectious waste container for gauze, bibs,
gloves, sponges, towels, and any other
contaminated infectious material. This service
includes a UN/DOT approved prepaid return
shipping container and box for shipping and
disposal for the waste with certification.

prior to discharge. Due to these regulations, we
have developed a California-
specific photochemical filtration service.
*Doctors on a septic system, cannot discharge
any chemical waste down the drain - they must
have their waste hauled away. Therefore they do
NOT require our photochemical recovery unit.
Have them contact a hazardous waste hauler to
remove the photochemical waste. |
Medium Practices with 4-6 chairs or less:
2 kits sent per year (OSHA only sent once).
